Veronica McKay
President
After graduation from Queens University, Veronica began work at Sutherland in 1993. She has served as a CSR, Office Manager and is currently the owner and President of the company. She holds a license designation of CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) and specializes in coverages for farm owners. Her time is divided between the commercial and personal departments and company management.
Tommy Davis
Business & Personal Sales
Tommy joined Sutherland in 2013 as a property and liability producer and account executive. He is a native of the area and has 13 years experience in the insurance industry. Since joining the agency, he has completed the Certified Builders Insurance Agent program through Builders University and now holds the CBIA designation.
Lori Huntley
Commercial Service Rep
Lori joined Sutherland in 2012. As a former office manager and producer, Lori has a high level of knowledge about personal and commercial lines of insurance. This knowledge is verified by her holding the license designation as Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). Currently Lori is a producer of new business in both the commercial and personal department, with a special emphasis on bonds.

Havan McKay
A graduate of East Tennessee State University with a degree in Communications and Advertising, Havan joined Sutherland in 2020. Currently, Havan handles marketing, advertising and accounting. She is working on her insurance license requirements and will soon be a licensed agent.
Lynda Clarke
Lynda began her insurance career in 2006 in New York. When she moved to North Carolina in 2017, she knew she wanted to continue in the field and joined the team at Sutherland. Currently, Lynda holds a CISR designation and serves as Personal Lines Account Executive for new and existing customers.
Ed Jones
Our FOrmer President
Ed began working at Sutherland in the early 1960s as a personal and commercial producer. In the mid 1980s he purchased the agency from the Sutherland family. During his tenure as president, the agency expanded its company representation, policy offerings and customer base. Sadly, Ed passed on November 14, 2020, but he leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment to his customers, his agency and employees and his community.
